Israel Day Twenty-Nine

This morning we woke up at Eilat Field School well rested from an 8am sleep in.

As Bus 1 ventured to Eilat Hub, where they learned about start up companies and how Israel is a leader in the technological world; Bus 2 volunteered with a shelter that supports the children of Refugees and Asylum Seekers. We made delicious fruit salad and played outside with the kids, despite the heat and the language barrier. Wether we played soccer or had a water fight, there were smiles on everyone’s faces. As we were sad to say goodbye to the kids and amazing staff, both buses were looking forward to the Ice Mall.

We enjoyed Pizur lunch, shopping, and fish pedicures. The mall was spectacular with its ice rink and air conditioning. The ice rink made all of us feel at home in Canada.

Afterwards, we drove to the Coral Beach Nature Reserve and were all excited for snorkelling. Before the fun in the water began, we were educated on coral reefs and the fish that live in this region of the Red Sea. We saw many fish as we explored the water.

We returned to our hostel and got some much needed free time. We finished off the night with mifkad and an ETB (early to bed) in preparation for our 3:15 wake up.

We are looking forward to our final days here in Israel and will make the most of our last summer together.
